What will be happening on the day?
The careers fair element of the event will host stands from employers across various sectors of agriculture and agri-food promoting vacant roles in their company and stands from third-level institutions promoting their agriculture and agri-food courses. Exhibitors will include meat processors, dairy processors and food companies, animal health, nutrition, genetics and fertiliser companies, machinery and engineering companies, agri-business and service companies, fertiliser, horticulture and forestry, retail and consumer, education and IT & Ag tech. Along with over 45 exhibitors, there will be a Main Stage, a Schools Zone, a Career Advice Hub and a Ag Tech Village. Keep an eye on Agri Careers for further updates.
There will be a series of talks taking place on the main stage from 11 am to 6:30 pm on the day. Topics include: Irish Farmers Journal and Friends, A career that travels, A day in the life, The Apprenticeship route, Successful Families, Farm to food business, Horses for courses, Billions in byproducts, MacGyver disguised as a farmer, Connected Ireland, Ag Tech, Beefing up your potential and Careers in an expanding sector.

Career Advice Hub
This year, the Career Advice Hub is back with a range of guest speakers at the Agri Careers Fair in the RDS on the 30th March. The Career Advice Hub will be making a return to this year’s Agri Careers Fair with lots of interesting advice from professionals and experts in the industry. Presentations will take place throughout the day covering areas such as CV and interview preparation, how to transition from third-level to the workplace and career planning.

There will be a specially designated Schools Zone for fifth and sixth year students interested in pursuing a career in the agriculture, agri-food industries at Agri Careers. There will be a series of talks in the Schools Zone on the day specifically aimed at those still in secondary education who want to pursue further education in those industries – whether it is a PhD, an apprenticeship or a FETAC course.

There will be an Ag Tech Hub present at Agri Careers including the Enterprise Ireland Ag Tech Village with different start-up tech companies exhibiting. There will be a stage with talks on various topics related to the Ag Tech industry including: Education – looking at Ag Tech courses and new skills required, Funding start up – What investors are looking for in Ag Tech companies, Ag Tech Start Up Showcase, The potential of drone technology and more.
